I just received my frames today and I wanted to thank you for doing such an excellent job on my glasses.
I had already tried the frames on at a local sunglass store to ensure they would fit my face but my biggest concern was how the Rx would turn out in the frames.
I had previously ordered Rx sunglasses from Framesdirect.com with the same Rx and I had some real difficulties with blurred vision.
I don't know what they did to the lenses (perhaps the optical center was off or the entire Rx was wrong); I had to constantly tilt my head or adjust the frames on my face to see clearly. I was very frustrated and upset as there was no returns allowed on Rx sunglasses; I had spent hundreds of dollars on these frames and they weren't even Rx wrap frames.
The frames you made for me are perfect! My vision was crystal clear when I first put on the frames; no blurry vision and no need to 'adjust to the frames' like the other frames.
Perhaps it is the Shamir Autograph lens that is the reason for my crystal clear vision?
Whatever the reason, I am very happy with my Rx wraps and I regret that I didn't originally order from Heavyglare.com in the first place.

I’ve bought two pairs of Rx sunglasses from HG over the past 10 years. Grant has always been responsive and very helpful, and the glasses have been great. I recently had cataract surgery and got lens implants to correct my astigmatism; I no longer need glasses except for reading. I just emailed Grant about getting non-Rx lenses put in a 5 year old pair of Rudy Project glasses I love. Grant got right back to me and said it won’t be an issue. I am very happy and will be sending the glasses back for the switch! As always, wonderful customer service!

I purchased the Von Zipper Paco sunglasses from this site back in 2006. I still use them to this day, and am always complimented

I couldn't find a local place to put prescription lenses my Oakleys because of the curved lens. What you guys did is great! Not only can I see better with the prescription, but the lens tint and even the color I see when looking through the lens is so close to the actual Oakley lens that I can't even tell they aren't the originals.

Got my new prescription sunglasses yesterday. They're perfect: I saw things in 20/20 HD when on my bike ride. I don't know how they manage to correct both myopia and astigmatism over the entire curved surface of the Oakley Flak Jackets, but they do.

After receiving his glasses yesterday, Mike went on a run this morning and stated he was able to run confidently for the first time in a long while. He said his glare was cut significantly. Due to his eye disease(retinitis pigmentosa), Mike had purchased a cane to help in on those difficulty, glaring days. With those cocoon glasses, he was getting by and did not make the step to use his cane. With his new prescription sunglasses, I don’t think he’ll need the cane for a long time…..hopefully never, with the help of science. Thank you so much for your assistance. You have no idea. I got my new sunglasses yesterday, and they are perfect! I love them.
I had actually asked for non-progressive bifocals, as I had been told that with the wraparound frames I might experience some distortion with progressive bifocals that would bother me. But somehow... I got progressives. But no problem, I don't notice any distortion. And I do prefer progressives.
On my previous sunglasses I did not get bifocals at all, thinking that I would only be wearing them when active outside and therefore would only need distance. I was wrong about that, and frequently had to take off my shades when outside in the sun to read something. Now that's no longer a problem. :-)

I am very happy with my new Bolle Chase prescription sunglasses.
I got them specifically for tennis. With my regular glasses, I was having problems with shadows and light coming in the sides/reflecting off the inside of the lenses.
With the new Bolles, the prescription is accurate, even though it is on curved lenses.
I think these will improve my game overall. The glasses were expedited quickly, which I really appreciate.

My new digital cut bifocals with brown tint gave me 6 days of spectacular pheasant hunting in South Dakota. I definitely had the edge over my companions because they are so sharp looking and produced a sharp, crisp detail of the birds. The bird population was down considerably due to all the rain last spring. The second hatch birds were tough for the others to determine the sex because the colors are just starting to develop but not for me and my new sunglasses.

My new friends from Heavyglare did the impossible, possible for me. After years of searching locally and in the internet for a company that would not tell me that it was impossible making lenses with my prescription to my Oakley's Flak Jacket XLJ Sunglasses, thanks to GOD , finally I found it.
The only option that I had for some years until I found them, was to have regular eyeglasses frames with mirrored polarized lenses, which I did not like, but it was the only option I could find. Now I am able to ride my bike, play golf and drive in sunny days with my lovely Oakley's again. If you are reading this testimonial and you have the same situation that I had, try Heavyglare, it is really possible for them.
I have never posted a testimonial for any a company, but they really impacted my life. Sue, The glasses were waiting for me at home. They are awesome!!! I was a little surprised at the thickness at first glance but remembered we went polycarbonate. Still they aren't that much thicker than my high index lenses I have now. They are probably the clearest glasses I have ever had. The fit is perfect. I have complete clarity as far as I can roll my eyes left to right and up and down and all thru the lenses.
It is so nice to drive into work heading South and not have sun from the east in my eyes and not seeing any frames. Here is a picture (took it by myself so you'll have to excuse the pose...haha).
I am heading to my eye doctor to show him and tell he's full of B.S. because they all said it couldn't be done and I would have all kinds of distortion!!!!

Believe it or not, when I first received the new glasses and tried them on, I thought something was a little off - my vision wasn't as clear as I had expected. When I spoke of my concern to the sales representative at Heavyglare Eyewear, I was advised to give it a few days, as my eyes may take a little bit longer to adjust to the digitally surfaced lenses. I am so glad I took the advice... after a few days of letting my eyes relax and adjust to the new lenses, I feel like I have a whole new set of eyes - everything is crystal clear! Thank goodness I didn't give up on these digitally surfaced lenses.

I take this opportunity to thank all the staff at HeavyGlare for their superb customer service in providing me the Oakley Jawbone Sunglass with prescription lenses tailor made to meet my specific requirements.
From my very first inquiry, I was getting "immediate" replies to my emails and all questions were answered right away. I placed the order as soon as possible and the glasses were shipped within the given time frame.
With some delay from the postal services, I recently received the shades, and this has been the best sunglasses I've ever worn. The lenses were just perfect despite my prescription having high numbers, and the lens being very curved. Sue, First I want to say thanks for everything. Heavyglare has came through where others can't. I understand that with my prescription having such a high cylinder it is very hard to make the lenses. But Heavyglare did it in a wrap type frame. I am more than pleased with my Oakley Straight Jacket frames. The frames keep out the light from coming in from the side of the glasses. When I look through the lenses you made they are perfect. When in the bright sunlight, my eyes feel relaxed and squinting is now a thing of the past. Within approximately two weeks of ordering prescription Oakley Bottle Rocket 2.0 frames from Heavyglare.com, they arrived at my door in excellent condition. I was initially concerned when I saw "China" on the stems of my glasses, but after inquiring about my worry, I was immediately called back and emailed by Grant. He gave a very detailed explanation regarding how Oakley had been purchased by Luxottica in 2007 and how they had recently switched manufacturing of ophthalmic stems to China. Upon calling Oakley's office in California for confirmation, they indeed did confirm what Grant had told me. Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know I received the Rudy Project Kybo sunglasses yesterday. I remember when we first spoke about these you said I was in for a treat regarding advances in technology in relation to being able to make the curve with my prescription. I can't believe how tight the lenses fit into the frames! I also LOVE the glasses. They fit my face so much better then the other Rudy Project glasses I had for five years -although great glasses themselves. But these are just much more suited to my face size and shape and wrap tighter so as to block perimeter sun glare and so forth. Plus the frame is really very sharp aesthetically speaking.

ANSWER: Regarding the scratch-resistance. These should have the same scratch-resistance as the stock Oakley lenses. They should be treated with some care, mainly with regard to cleaning. If you use an alcohol-free lens cleaner, and a cotton cloth, you should be fine. Just don't grind anything that gets o the lens into it. @Heavyglare Eyewear

I have had nothing but great experiences with this company! In the last two years I have purchased the exact same pair of prescription sunglasses three times (I know I need to be more careful)! Mind you, this is a pair of glasses that Lensescrafters said couldn't done due to lens curvature. Well, each time Heavyglare had no problem cranking these out in less than two weeks. A consistent product at a consistently low price. When first pricing prescription designer glasses I was quoted from $500-600, Heavyglare, $300!!! I received my glasses today. They arrived in fine shape, and I am very pleased with the quality of the workmanship. The fit and finish of the custom lenses in the Oakley Flak Jacket is great. The clarity of the optics is actually much better than my regular glasses from my optometrist in the states!! I have not been able to check the transition qualities as of yet due to conditions here in Iraq being less than ideal for outdoor "activities" today, but I will definitely let you know if I have any problems/questions.

Mark, I ordered the Rec Specs Cross Trainers with the regular high index lenses. I've had them a few weeks now and I'm very satisfied with them. The frames are heavy enough that they hide the thickness of the lenses quite well. I opted not to get the polarized lenses as I don't like how polarized lenses black out LCD displays when I'm driving or riding.

Mark, We received my sons glasses the day of a game. He went 2 for 3 at the plate with a walk, a double, a single, and a hard line drive out that was right at the second basemen who made a defensive catch. He hasn't pitched in them yet but is scheduled to pitch this Thurs. They look great, fit great, and do the job. Plus, the other players think they're really cool. Mark, I wanted to let you know that my "impossible to do" Ray-Ban Olympia sunglasses arrived. After a few minor adjustments I went for a ride through the canyon. I can see perfectly. By one of the worlds most circuitous routes I got them at Christmas after you had sent them to Minnesota for my sister who then took them to Australia while I came down from Papua New Guinea. They're awesome ... not pitch black, which used to be my habit, but the transitions lenses work pretty well for me and I'm not bumping into things when I walk inside. I recently placed an order for prescription lenses in an Oakley half-jacket frame. The order went through no problems, and upon arrival I was satisfied with the process.
Recently, I was tasked for a short-notice deployment to an island. I made sure to take my glasses, but was unsure how they'd hold up to the heat/humidity/sand. I am extremely surprised at how well they performed in removing the glare and allowing me to do my job without eye fatigue. They were used constantly from dusk till dawn, and even in my off-duty time. I didn't take particularly good care of them, however they've held up without a scratch through all the drops and times they've been thrown in a uniform pocket without any protection.

Mark, My Bolle Limit Rx sunglasses arrived today. As soon as I put them on, I knew that this was the best, most accurate prescription I'd ever had. My initial misgivings about ordering online have been assuaged completely.

Mark, I received my Arnette prescription sunglasses a week ago and just wanted to say that the quick turnaround was great. One thing I really like about them is it seems like my vision is corrected, then I'm wearing designer glasses on top. They are also the darkest tint I've ever had, and it's much appreciated on these bright winter mornings.
Also curious, do you have a retail showroom in St. Paul? Just wondering since a few times a year I'm in the area and if I ever decide to pick up another pair down the line, it would be nice to see some selections in person. Mark, I'm the guy (BMW R1100RS, K1200LT) who stopped in your store this past July to have you help me with goggles - you suggested the Panoptx Raptor CVs. This past weekend was the first chance I had to use them for an extended ride and they worked out very well! The reduced peripheral vision (as compared with my ordinary glasses) takes some getting used to, but I really like the wind protection they provide and the lens color is perfect. At the end of last week I ordered a set of Cocoons from one of your competitors online. I had already been to your site, but you and the competitor were selling the item at the same price, but they were including several freebies along with the order, so I ordered from them. Two days later I received a reply to my order that said they were out of stock and would be shipping my order out sometime in the next two weeks. This is Las Vegas in the summer; I don't have 2 weeks to wait for sunglasses. I wrote to them to cancel my order and immediately came to your site to order the sunglasses.
On 8/7/06 I placed the order, on 8/8/06 I received a delivery confirmation, and today on 8/10/06 had the sunglasses waiting for me in my mailbox. I just wanted to give you a big thanks for the service and speed of delivery. I'll definitely be doing business with you again soon.

I purchased a pair of Nike sun glasses from your company last year. At the time Moleek DuPree was extremely helpful in my transaction; I hoped it was not an isolated case of excellent service.
Indeed it was not, a month or so ago a lens broke. I spoke with Mark Busse regarding replacement. He told me to send it back for warranty evaluation. I happened to be visiting St Paul the following week and brought in the sun glasses in person. I wanted to send you an email and tell you how very happy I am with my order of Ray Ban prescription sunglasses.
When I first tried to get the frames (Daddy-O Ray Ban), I went to a local lens store, and they told me, oh no ... it was not possible to get that prescription in those frames.
Well, I am very persistent and decided someone, somewhere had to be able to make the sunglasses I wanted in the frame I wanted.
I found Heavyglare in an online search, I own a web site also, for Horse Racing, so I tend to think of myself as Internet savvy.
I phoned up the order # and spoke to Mark. He was very articulate and enthusiastic, and told me he could have a great pair of sunglasses made for me and that Pearle(the local lens place) might not have had the same equipment required to attempt my correction and make the lenses size fit in the frames.
I like Mark, I think he really did a good job, and gave me a lot of options and choices and told me your company could make the glasses. I felt good after talking to him.
About 1 week later, Graham emailed me to let me know about the glasses being ready, but that he noticed on his own that the lens maker had not correctly tinted my lenses blue, and did I want to keep them Silver or have them corrected.
His sincerity and attention to details saved me from having the wrong glasses.
My house was just sold in NY, and I am about to literally leave NY in days, and I told Graham, I did understand about the lenses and did not want to be upset, but that I would be leaving soon and would not be able to get my glasses if I could not have them by a certain date.
Well, Graham kept me updated and told me he would make sure I had my glasses before I left.
He kept his word, I just received my Ray Ban Daddy O sunglasses today, and I have them for my drive and for the intense Florida Sunshine.

Hi there – I am a recent customer of yours and wanted to give you some feedback on the wonderful experience.
I ordered a pair of sunglasses from your store back in early August and wanted to let you know I had the most seamless sales/delivery experience I have ever had online. I needed the sunglasses within a matter of days to play in a national softball tourney in San Diego and had just canceled my order from another online store because they didn't have it on order and couldn't get them to me in time.
To be fair, the experience may have something to do with the fact that I live in Minneapolis, but thought you deserved the kudos regardless. I ordered these sunglasses online from your store, but didn't bother to even look at where you are located. I got a call from the office saying they had trouble getting my CC info from the web, which I then gave. I then got another phone call the same day from Graham telling me that he lives just a couple blocks from me and wondering if I wanted him to drop these off on his way home from work so I wouldn't have 'next day' shipping charges.
Now I have heard stories of this kind of customer service in the past that are far and few between, but never have I had anyone offer to drop a purchase off, and in effect, never had this experience myself. I personally manage 30 direct reports at a software development company and I try daily to instill this type of motivation and genuine care for our clients for the people that report to me, but I have to say I'm very impressed at the dedication and general "just being a nice guy" this employee of yours was/is.

After my latest visit to my local optometrist, I stated that I wanted a good pair of sunglasses along with my regular glasses. The optician there suggested that I get the Nike GDO Squares with the ML lenses. I liked the look and ordered them. Two weeks later, I received them but couldn't hardly see out of them at all. I returned them and two weeks later, they came back. Still I couldn't see properly out of them after wasting a month. I had to settle for my "usual" 6-base wire frame models like I have had to do for years now. (Diopters -6.50 in both eyes). I was really bummed as I wanted a nice pair of wraps that normal people get to wear.

I just wanted to send my numerous thanks for a wonderful experience! I hadn't been riding my motorcycle at night because I couldn't wear my eyeglasses without the fear of them blowing off so I ordered the Wiley-X CQC goggle with a prescription insert. I did not expect them for another 2 weeks so when I headed out for a ride today with my boyfriend and I noticed a box on my step I was very surprised to see my goggles!

I purchased a pair of the lenses and eye cups for a pair of Wiley X SG-1 sunglasses from your store about 8 months ago when I was in the desert. I was a soldier that was deployed to Iraq and I have what you may call a unique prescription for glasses.
Your company was the only company that help me. Thanks to you I was able to sport my Wiley X Glasses through a tough time in my life. They also help me when I needed to travel up and down some dangerous routes while transporting supplies from base to base. Again I want to thank your company for the prescription lenses. However, when I was in a move I misplaced my glasses and seem to have lost them back in Iraq.
I am now back in the states but I still want to get another pair of the lenses. I remember the lenses were about $100 and the eyecups were something like $15. I will email you my prescription like before and get you to send me another pair of the lenses for the Wiley X SG-1 glasses.

I have served 20 years in the Marines and have never had eye protection that was this versatile. Inter-changable arms, straps and lenses all in one package. I am a cop and a firearms instructor. In addition to that I wear prescription glasses. I have tried clip-on sunglasses and they were uncomfortable. I received my Wiley X SG-1 Transitional grey glasses/ goggles on Saturday as my friend returned from his trip, and I was a bit scared as I tried on the glasses and they are a bit wide for my face, they are much more tight when I wear them with the elastic band. As well the day was very cloudy and I didn't´t see the darkening of the lenses until the next day when it was sunny, I must admit I am still amazed of the quality of your product, I am really happy, I can even read my speedometer !!! The corrected prescription sunglasses arrived just fine, and I have field tested them—I can read as well as see distance with the grey, polarized, no-line bifocal lens. Please know how much I have appreciated the excellent service your people have provided, especially Chad and Grant. Their prompt and courteous responses made this whole internet order very satisfactory.
I fly several times a month and find the sunglasses very helpful both in the air, and even indoors. The lens coating as well as frame allow my glare-sensitive eyes to really open up.

I recently purchased a pair of Wiley X XL-1 with prescription. I have been using them for motorcycling for about 2 weeks now, and I have to say I love them. What I am most happy about was the prescription was right on, and crystal clear on the first day. The regular glasses I have I had to return 4 times for them to be corrected. I received my prescription Wiley SG-1 from your shop about 5 days ago. I've had an opportunity to use them now and I wanted to let you know they work great. As sunglasses, they are a little too large for my face and head, but as goggles, they are great! The prescription is right on, and the look is just as you described and promised. My prescription is really high, and no one else could get it in a frame that curved as much as the SG-1. This frame provides great peripheral vision as well. And the time you told me it would take to get them to me was exactly when you delivered them.
I'll be shopping for regular sunglasses in the near future, and your shop will be first place I look. Thanks for doing what you promised you could do. My new Harley-Davidson Deuce and my riding goggles look great together!

I just wanted to send a quick thank you to you and your staff. A few weeks ago I placed an order for a prescription pair of sunglasses. Grant was a great help by answering both questions I had and other questions I didn't even think of. Unfortunately the frames I picked were out of stock. However, unlike most companies, Grant took the time to call me more than once to let me know the status of the order and possible alternatives.

First thing that I need to do is qualify myself as to why I can attest to how good Cocoon Glasses are.
I am 79 years old. Have been fishing the Laguna Madre-Baffin Bay area since I was 8 years old. You name it, I have probably fished with it.
As for dark fishing glasses, I have owned and used many different pair and shades, some pretty good, some pretty bad.
BUT, The pair of Fit Over, amber colored glasses that I bought, used for about three months, then lost while running in the dark with a spot light were the very best that I have ever had the good fortune to use.
Rest assured I don't have the greatest eyesight in the world, have worn glasses since I was twelve years old and even had an implant in my right eye some 3 years ago and will probably have another in my left next year.
I love to fish as you probably do too. Therefore, anything that gives me the edge, I love.
Friend, you won't ever regret owning a pair and will be as I was when I thought to myself. "Why in the world couldn't I have had these when I was younger.

Thank you for your prompt shipment of the Panoptx Viento sunglasses I ordered. Unfortunately Airborne Express screwed up and I am not going to get my glasses in time for my Sturgis trip. I contacted Airborne and they said they had a mix up and my package missed.

There was some disagreement as to when exactly I was to receive my order when having an item shipped "overnight air". But the company is the best I've seen in customer service when it came to straightening out this miscommunication. They were very courteous, straight forward, and the manufacturer to send out another order "overnight" to be shipped to a different location where I could receive the package. I would highly recommend this company and would order from Heavyglare.com again.
